Corrupt page?

Asked By: Ashu    Date: May 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 727

Consultants built a template for us to create public-facing websites for our
elementary schools. The solution is poorly documented but from what I can tell,
they used features to provision master pages, layouts and content types. Each
school is a separate site collection using those same files.

Lately, when I attempt to create a new site collection, I get the error "The
folder that would hold URL 'school's_url/News' does not exist on the server.
I've found that if I do an iisreset, delete the site collection, then recreate
it, everything works fine.

Unfortunately, prior to that discovery, I had created at least one site
collection, got that error, and continued to use the site anyway. There is a
problem with just this site where the News detail page is not displaying the
article text even though the query string is there in the URL. All the page and
content type settings are identical to those in site collections that function

I was thinking that somehow the page in question was somehow corrupt and that I
should just be able to replace it, but it seems the "page" is pulled from that
main features directory (again, as far as I can tell).

I'm at a loss as to how to fix this problem. The school has already spent a
considerable amount of time entering their information and I would hate to have
to recreate it and start from scratch. Any insight into what might be happening
or how to fix the issue is would be greatly appreciated.
