We have a document library with 2000 documents and so, it is taking
a while to open that area on the portal.
In order to accomplish a faster access we decided to save those files
as single page webpage(.mht files).
Now the concerns we are having to proceed are:

1. There are several alerts setup on several documents (document
level alerts)in that document library.
These are key documents of the organization and people should be
noted when they are changed.If we change the existing documents to
mht files is there a way to retain the alerts those setup on the doc
file.

2. There are some mac users and I was not sure if mht works on macs.
