Content Query Web Parts in a site template

Asked By: Anna Reed         Date: Jul 25, 2008      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 229

I have created a site template (.stp) that uses content query web parts
to display list data.
When I create a site from the template the cqwp's are still associated
with the list guids from the original site.
I have not been able to edit page and change the list that the web part
is pointing to. The only way I can fix each web part is to export the
web part, open it up in notepad and manually change the list guid.
This, obviously, is not very user friendly.
Is there any way that I can use the Content Query Web Parts as part of
a template and be able to modify the web part to point to the correct
list without having to go to code level?
Or,
Is there any way to have the web parts point to the correct lists (that
reside in each of the site templates) when the site is created?
