content editor webpart - hyperlink and hostnames

Asked By: Kyle Davis         Date: Mar 15, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 328

I recently restored/attached a content database on a different farm, and some links in the content editor webparts are pointing to the server name (web front end) in the new farm. We recently installed SP2 in sharepoint, is this a behavior of SP2 or a backup restore?

example:

productionVanityURL/thing/pages/something.aspx

restored as
http://QAServerName/thing/pages/something.aspx

it's a common issue of the restoration/migration via the OOTB functionality, when inlined URLs are not updates.
You need to update them manually, or migrate via Metalogix tool that updates such stuff
