Content Editor Web Part and script

A friend of mine is being told that Microsoft doesn't recommend allowing power
users to add scripts via the Content Editor Web Part. I was wondering how many
shops restrict this capability compared to those supporting the capability. Any
ideas?

Depends on the power users: are they coders or not.

Bad code can cause lots of client/server performance issues.
