Content Databases

Asked By: Jamie    Date: May 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1412

I hope someone can guide me to the right path.
My question is this.
Can one set up a size limit on a Content Database.
I know you can set up site limits meaning when Content Database "A" has
reached 100 sites the 101 site will get created on Content Database "B".
As I mentioned above can a size limit be set so for example when
Content Database "A" has reached 25GB to rollover to Content
Database "B" automatically without having to touch the site limit
option in the SharePoint Central Administrator

The only way to really control database size  is to use a combination of
quota limits  and site  limits in the database. For example, set  the
quota limit  on each site collection to 100MB and the max number of sites
to be created as 1000. Then multiply - that's the max size your
database can grow to be.
