if u r using frontpage 2003 and this one is an XSLT Data View, then you should
be able to just delete "Department:". As for the hyperlink on the "Last Name"
right click on it the value you want choose "Format Item As > Hyperlink To >
Display Form". This should sort out ur problem

Thanks, on the XSLT data  view the Hyperlink worked, after I added the
ID field  to the data view.

Interesting that the contact  thing still doesn't work. Seems to be
only an option to add the Group Header w/Expand by default or
Collapse by default. The Group Header doesn't seem to have any way
to change the default from "Groupx: Detail" to just "Detail". E.g. I
want it to say:
+ Accounting (5)
+ Finance (10)
+ IT (5)

Instead of
+ Dept: Accounting (5)
+ Dept: Finance (10)
+ Dept: IT (5)

I initially was having the same thing happening as you with the group
expand or collapse in the XSLT view.

I have it doing as you want now and I think the solution was to choose
the HTML view  style = repeating form style (the 2nd one down). The
group heading is no longer in bold but it looks fine.

I'm using it for a FAQ page and so I only have one answer for each
question (the grouping column). I have also removed the number in
parentheses at the end of the group  heading because in my case it was
always (1).
