Connecting SharePoint Contact list to Active Directory

I want to have an Employee Contacts list on our SharePoint site that
pulls from our Active Directory accounts and automatically updates when
any changes are made on the Active Directory side. Does anyone know
the best way to do this?

In the Sharedservices, you have an option called 'User profiles and
properties'. By using this option you can import your Active Directory
entries into SharePoint database.
