The SharePoint Business Data List Connector (BDLC) connects SharePoint lists (no
Web Parts) directly with almost any external LOB data using common list settings
with 3 easy steps:

1. Enter connection string
2. Enter select statement

Yes, it pulls data  into a SharePoint list  destination too.
But much more efficient and without any complex configuration, mapping etc. All
this can be done directly  in the SharePoint list settings.

Only modified data is pulled into list (insert/update/delete). So alerts  and
workflows can be used  on SharePoint side for changed  items. It can be used with
any data source, that can be accessed using connection  strings (not SQL Server

Yes, SharePoint Business Connectivity Services (BCS) will be much better to
manage compared to BDC in 2007 version.

But I dont find any way to import data  scheduled with workflow enabled. And -
what about Windows SharePoint Services 4.0? BCS will not be included - or? Lots
of customers out there for the BDLC
