Configure SPS 2003 for authentication other than Windows Authentication

How do I configure my SPS 2003 for authentication other than Windows
Authentication ?
Is there anyway so that when I try to login on the portal server, I
can use my own page instead of the window's login window ?
How can I upload larger files in the document library ? I am trying
to upload a ppt more than 50 MB of size.

SPS only supports Windows Authentication, via either Windows Integrated (NTLM)
or HTTP Basic. While it is possible to do forms authentication  via custom
coding, it's an 80% solution and it has holes (like the integration with Office)
which is the reason it's not supported in the first place...
