Conditional Field Display in SharePoint Form 2003

What is the recommended approach to modify a SharePoint NewForm.aspx
such that a CHOICE in one field hides another field on the form.

In other words, we're looking for something like conditional
formatting. Conditional formatting does not seem to be an option with
NewForm.aspx.

Conditional formatting is possible if you add JavaScript on the NewForm.aspx and EditForm.aspx. I use FrontPage 2003 to add JS on the pages. I always do this in our test box and then use the same list template (.spt file) on the production server.
