Commenting on pdf files in sharepoint

I was able to provide comments on a pdf I created and save them so others viewing the file could see them. However, when my 2 reviewers tried to make comments, they could not be saved to the pdf in sharepoint. What's happening? They check the document out, open to edit, make comments, save comments and then check in (just like I did). They can see mine but when we go back into the document their comments are gone.

We've run into this issue as well.. instead of saving it to your desktop, Add
a network place and then save  it there.. do a File, Save As and choose the
network place...

Map it like a drive versus a web address.
For example: mapt it this way \\sitename\sites\folder\Shared Documents
versus http://sitename/sites/folder/Shared%20Documents
