Column Width in list view

Asked By: Chase    Date: Dec 23    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 17031

Anyone have an easy way to define column width in a listview webpart? I've looked about and haven't found much in the way of solution but see some with similar concerns. What does SharePoint use to define the width of one area versus another? Included below are some examples. The first just shows how layout can be annoying when you want a clean consistent look. The second example just looks at how SharePoint will word-wrap one column and not the other. Any advice would be great (though I'm pretty sure the answer lies in 2007).

If you convert the web part to an XSLT data view  web part you can set each column  width to whatever you want.

Is the solution  the same in MOSS2007? We can't seem to get the
columns to line up there, either.
