Code for Sharepoint.

Asked By: Jarrod Hoffman         Date: Dec 09, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 210

Im the Sharepoint Admin here and have no coding experience. Ive taken
the Mindsharp Core tech sharepoint class and was very pleased.

My question, Would the Developer's Guide to Windows SharePoint Services
3.0 class be wise to take to learn how to code for sharepoint? Or
would i need to take a Intro to C# class prior?

You would definitely need to know C# (or VB.NET) before taking the WSS 3.0
Developers class. MOSS/WSS is built on top of ASP.NET 2.0 and 3.0, so any
coding custimizations would require knowledge of this.

About half the Developer class  is C# and the rest is XML/CAML. I would
suggest taking Intro to C# first and then Mindsharp's Dev class.
