Code Access Security

Asked By: Kendall Lindsey         Date: Jun 02, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 169

Ive been trying to pitch Code Access Security here, and am getting
nothing but complaints. Developers are complaining it's just "too hard"
and takes "too long to implement".

I feel like I've failed, as all the best practice recommendations are
not going to be implemented so we can go with a hasty installation.

...anyone here have some good ways to pitch CAS?

I sympathize with you! I'm dealing with reluctance because change
introduces risk and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. My strategy is to
keep the concepts in my toolbox and pull them out when a business need
arises. Sometimes stuff happens and you can suggest a best practice
that wiil prevent an issue from happening again. I know it's better to
be proactive, but sometimes you need to be reactive until the
advantages of best practices are obvious to everyone.
