Click to modify this page...

Using SharePoint V2 WSS from Firefox, the link that appears under the search
panel for modifying the page is different (and dysfunctional) on one server,
but fine on others. Details:

1) the link text is "Click to modify this page for me" or "Click to modify
this page for all users", instead of the familiar "Modify My Page" and
"Modify Shared Page".

2) Clicking on the link changes the "PageView" parameter in the query string
from "Shared" to "Personal" (or vice-versa), but doesn't open the Tool Pane.

I am adminstrator on the site in question, so I don't think it's a simple
permissions issue.

The site works as expected from IE. Other WSS sites on our campus work as

I have examined the JavaScript code and Googled without finding anything
helpful. Do you folks have any ideas?

I hate to tell you this and you probably already know it but MS doesn't
support browsers other than IE for SharePoint use. You can get a lot of
functionality with FireFox on team sites  but when it comes to
interacting with the site  as you are doing when you modify  the page,
you will lose functionality and could cause stability issues.

This is supposed to be improved in WSS v3.
