How to clear/reset std connection filter between WP?

  Asked By: Neil    Date: Nov 04    Category: MOSS    Views: 2703

I have put two list views on a page and connected them through a common
column. When you click a radio button in list A, the corresponding rows in
list B display - GREAT. It is a MOSS site.

BUT, I cannot find a way to reset the radio buttons without exiting the page
and returning.

Anyone have some handy vbs behind a button to do this? VS not available only

Simple Javascript would look like this:

function resetButtons(formName, rbName) {
var oRadio = document.forms(formName).elements(rbName);
for(var i=0;i<oRadio.length;i++) {
oRadio[i].checked = false;

Alternatively you could identify each radio  button instance by ID (instead
of identifying the group by name, which is shared by connected  RBs); in that
case you would have to call each button  with
document.getElementById(buttonID) and set its checked property to false.

Does that help?

Maybe. I have not tried it yet. BUT, from the GUI it seems as if one cannot
"toggle" the radio  button, it is dead. If I could toggle it, I never would
have made this post.

So, in essence, is the idea to create a new button  which will "toggle" the
radio button?

Nope. The idea is to do with script what you can't do with the GUI.

Give it a shot and let me know what happens. You may have to trigger a
postback if you want to see the results change; I haven't gotten that deep
into the client-side functions of this web part before, but the concept is
pretty straightforward.

Try this:

<INPUT class=ms-ButtonHeightWidth accessKey=R
onclick="STSNavigate('http://PAGEURL/PAGE.aspx');" type=button
value="Reset selection" name=reloadpage target="_self">

Just put  in a content editor webpart.

Also, I misinterpreted what you asked; you would need some sort of GUI
element (like a button) to enact this change when desired. For some reason
I thought you meant I was adding an extra hidden radio  button, which of
course made no sense .
