Classic "customers with contacts and scheduled tasks" setup

I am setting up a new intranet for my company and the requirement is a classic
where customers have multiple contacts, and multiple sales contracts.

Is there a sample sharepoint site for this i could download? If not, i am
struggling to link a customer company list webpart to a people webpart using the
company lookup field. I think lookup fields actually store id numbers but i cant
seem to get this link to work.

Made some progress. Got my linked tables working.

Only thing is to set default value. At start up, when no company  record is
selected, all customer  records appear. Somehow I need to make a default
selection. This must be a sharepoint  designer thing....
