Changing the welcome Doe, Jon to welcome Jon Doe

how is it the easy things are the hardest in MOSS?
Does anyone know how to do this above with changing AD?

Right now I am guessing I have to change the
Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.Welcome namespace which seems like a
lot of work for such a simple thing.
