Changing Tabs on a template

Asked By: Amos    Date: Mar 10    Category: MOSS    Views: 694

I'm brand new to Sharepoint (07) so please forgive my very basic questions. I
have a Sharepoint site with tabs on the top of each page. I want to change the
text in the tab itself which I set up when creating the page but can't find the
spot to change it. I've looked under every link under Site Settings and am
still baffled. I've looked under Title, Description and Icon but that only lets
me change the title on the actual page, not in the tab for that page. If you
still don't understand what I'm saying please write me off line and I'll send a
screen shot.

Thanks for asking a question to which I know the answer!

Look 3 items below Title, Description and Icon to the Top link  bar.

You can edit each tab  there.

If you are at a subsite, it may be inheriting from a parent.

If it's a non-publishing site  you can edit these Site Settings in the "Top
Link Bar" under the Look and Feel column. If it's a publishing site you
can edit it in Site Settings in the "Navigation" link  under the Look and
Feel column. (The default tabs  established by a publishing Site definition are
edited by editing the Sites themselves.) Additional tabs can be edited in
Navigation.
