Changing System property 'Categories' from Multivalue

I tried to look into
urn:schemas-microsoft-com:publishing:Categories

from within Exchange Explorer and change

urn:schemas-microsoft-com:exch-data:ismultivalued from 1 to 0

intended to make it List. But SPS didn't reflect any changes
after saving these values.

Any one has idea about this?

Several days after I made the change, the Categories field now
become 'List' instead of 'multi-list'.

However, now my SPS does not save Knowledge Categories correctly
as it did. The field remains empty after I selected a category and
save the document.

Any one has idea on this?
