Changing Site Collection Owner

Asked By: Grace    Date: Jun 19    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 4689

I am trying to change the Site Collection Owner by going to SharePoint Central Administration.

In Manage Site Collection owner -- I type in the Site URL I am looking for --- click View -- It displays the Site URL & the Site Collection owner information. I try changing the Site collection Owner information to another name -- I don't see any place to enter the email address -- I am following URL below -- Once I try to click the OK button -- I get an error " The user xxxx\xxxx.xxxxxdoes not have an email address."

Go to
Site Settings > Manage Profile Database
View user  Profiles

find the user and enter  an email  address.

I don't see Manage Profile Database under site  Settings. Can you be more specific please?

Do you see the user  under site  Settings -> View information  about site users?
If so, do they have an email  address defined there? If not, assign one and see
if that fixes the problem.
