Would someone please shed a little light on what I should be thinking if my portal is going to change locations. What I mean is that we are going to be building out our portal sites in a development environment say www.testing.com and then we are going to physically move our servers to a new hosting facility - www.production.com.
All of the server names are going to be the same and the domain name isn't going to change as we are just physically moving all of our SharePoint servers.
My question is - when I create all of the SPS sites with stsadm - should I use the servername or the testing url or the production url? I don't want to have it break when we move it over to the new area. Anyone have any ideas?
