Changing the date/time stamp from the default 5 min interval

I recently came across a posting on one of the SharePoint sites that had
instructions on how to change the time in date/time fields to a one minute
interval rather than the default 5 minutes. Of course, now that we have a
requirement to do this I cannot find the posting again. Can anyone point me in
the right direction please?
