How Can I Change Error Messages

Asked By: Dominic    Date: Oct 24    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 970

When you try to access an non-existant SPS/WSS site, you get the following message.

"The Web site that is referenced here is not in the configuration database."
Is there any way to trap/substitute another message for this one?
I want to make all "content not there/not available" messages identical to prevent one client from deducing the presence of other clients by randomly trying other names in the URL.

We have been looking into this for a long time, I have someone research it so I will post when we find a solution

I can believe that Microsoft is not presenting user we a nicer error  message consistent with the look and feel of the portal.
