Change the default landing page of a site

Asked By: Madeline Francis         Date: Jul 02, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 1436

How does one change the default landing page of a site? Every site
that is created takes you directly to the "defualt.aspx" page in the
Pages doc library. What if I want to use a different page as the
landing page of my site? This means that the Quick Launch (Current
Navigation) and the Global Navigation menus need to be updated to
point to the new landing page.

You're talking about a MOSS site... you can change  the default  (aka: Welcome)
page by creating a new page  and then, from within site  Settings, change the
welcome page using the Welcome Page link. The navigation  will reflect these
changes.
