Change Branding on Site Headers

Asked By: Ralph    Date: Nov 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1136

I am brand new to 2007 and having a heck of a time trying to build out
a marketing portal site.

I'd like to:

1. use a different header than what the primary admin is using for the
rest of the intranet (he's using an out of box template with a logo
that looks like an inverted "V". ugly!)
2. make the pages look less like sharepoint and more like a nice html
webpage (i don't have designer, so i've got to find some templates or
use webparts somehow...)

Any advice? Also, I would love to find a very easy step-by-step non-
technical guide for site creation. I have "Sharepoint 2007 User's
Guide" by Bates & Smth, but it's more than I need. The Dummies book
also seems to be more than I need. I just want the basics for
designing a site. At this point, aesthetics are more important to my
users than fancy workflows or other features.
