Change Blog default behavior (don't strip embed)

Asked By: Demarco Witt         Date: Apr 21, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 747

How can you change a sharepoint blog's default behavior of stripping out
embed, object, iframe code?

Content Editor Webparts don't strip out code so I don't understand why Blogs
do? For security I'm sure, but if using in an intranet environment blogs and
wikis are a very useful sharepoint site type.

Regardless of the reason, can someone, please explain what page (or pages)
need to modified so a blog site won't strip out the tags for embed, object,
iframe, code?

I can't imagine it would be more than a couple line changes: escape-tags=no.
I'm not a sharepoint developer and have searched all over the web for this
solution, but other than the ERTE project no one has a clean solution to this
problem. Is it really that complex?
