Using certificates with Sharepoint

Asked By: Staci    Date: May 20    Category: MOSS    Views: 699

We're piloting MOSS as a possible replacement for several open source
applications that we are currently using. One feature we would like to keep is
the ability to use browser certificates from our CA as a source of
authentication as we have users on Windows, Linux, and OS/X using a variety of
browsers. The CA is not a Microsoft CA but an open source project. The domain
the MOSS box is in is configured to trust certificates from the CA. I believe I
have IIS configured to accept certificates properly but access only works from
IE on a machine in the same domain as the MOSS box. If I attempt to use the same
certificate in Firefox from a domain machine or from Linux or OS/X the access
fails.

Has anyone successfully used certificate authentication with MOSS? Any ideas?
