Central Admin Incoming email error

I am getting the following error when trying to set up incoming email in central
admin:
Either the specified Active Directory container does not exist or it has not
granted the correct permissions to the central administration application pool
account.

In Active Directory the central admin identity is the account that manages the
OU.
What am I doing wrong?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
