The case of the vanishing issing search results

Asked By: Colby    Date: Oct 29    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 843

There are 6 errors in the gatherer logs, five of them pertaining to
individual items in the same list. The 6th one is pertaining to an item
in a picture library. All of the error messages say the same thing:

"The address could not be found, (0x80040D7B - Document filtering cannot
be completed because the document server did not respond within the
specified timeout. Try crawling the server later, or increase the
timeout values. )"

All of those errors are from a crawl at around noon on November 3rd.
What seems strange to me is that these are being shown, even though the
box "Show only entries from last crawl" is checked. Yet when I go to the
main Configure Search and Indexing page, the last update time for portal
content shows as 11/8/04, at 10:20 AM, roughly 10 minutes ago.

Try using a site hit frequency rule to increase  the timeout  value. This is done in Central administration.
