Can't Add a Link to an Existing Site On SiteDirectory Page

  Asked By: Araceli Eaton         Date: May 28, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 199

An administrator created a site but did not list it in the
Sitedirectory. Now we need to add it to the list. When I try to use
the 'Add Link to a Site' on the Sitedirectory page in SharePoint 2003
(http://[server
name]/SiteDirectory/Lists/Sites/newform.aspx?Source=http%3a%2f%2f[servername]%2f\
SiteDirectory%2fLists%2fSites%2fSummary.aspx)
and fill in the information then click OK, nothing happens. The OK
button just goes gray but there is no activity. Ideas?

Have you tried just going directly to the sites list  on the site  directory
site and adding the new entry there? That's the list that drives the site
directory. If you've added your own categories to the site list it may have
an issue picking up the new fields.

That is how I'm trying to add  the site. Sitedirectory->Manage
Content->Sites->AddLin to Site
