Can't copy docs to web folder

I have two users who can not copy multiple documents to any web folders.
It gives them a

"you do not have permissions to copy this file or folder, or there are
network problems preventing authentication from the server"

I'm pulling my hair out on this one, I can't find anything in any of the
logs that might indicate what the problem is. This is on a SPS v1 SP2
server, windows 2000 sp4.

Has anyone else ran into this?

I forgot to add that they are both Coordinators of these web  folders.
