Using CAML to create a document library or list

Asked By: Bob    Date: Jun 19    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 9491

Aside from Heather Solomon's set of articles regarding creating a list
or library with CAML, which are great btw (as usual from Hether) I
haven't been able to find anything. Anyone have any code or other
links they can pass on? My developer was looking for some info..

There is <IMHO painfully> very little info  out there on CAML. The best way I’ve found to learn CAML is to look at the views & lists that are already there and just do trial and error. There are some handy utilities (like those from U2U) that will make viewing the CAML much easier. Just do a search for the following terms to find  the utilities:

· U2U

· CAML Girl (don’t know her name… she’s just referred to as the CAML Girl @ U2U J)

· CAML Viewer
