HI,
I am creating a workflow on a Calendar list in 2010 using SPD.
This workflow needs to send an email to a list of users when the text in any of 3 Outcome fields(outcome, outcome summary & outcome details) changes.
I tried to follow an article on the internet and created hidden columns for each of the required fields. I compare the values in the workflow and if they are not equal, then i send the email.
2 issues i am facing:
#1. workflow doesn't start until the item is Approved. This defeats the whole purpose of editing an item and having to view the changes in email without having to approve.
#2. workflow fires even if the outcome fields are not
changed. This is annoying to the user as any small
change, they start receiving an email.
I am not sure what is causing this issue. I have tested changing an event's outcome field specifically and i end up with 2 emails.
Any ideas or suggestions? Please respond.
