My calendar webpart

  Asked By: Chaim    Date: Jul 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1482

Is there a way to pre-populate the Mailbox in the "Mail Configuration"
section of the My calendar webpart with the username of the logged on
user instead of having the user configure it?

Try this export the web part and add .dwp entries to Onet.XML file.

I have a web part written that pulls Outlook information( Inbox, outbox, calendar, tasks, sent items etc) without defining exchange server name, or using outlook web access, and you can always add the .dwp entries to Onet.XML of the site definitions to pre-populate it.

I have a web part kit that will use the current user  name, if you want to try
it.

I just use this in a Content Editor Web Part (CEWP):

<object classid="clsid:0006F063-0000-0000-C000-000000000046"
id="ViewCtlFolder" width="100%" height="400px" codetype=
"application/x-oleobject"codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/
controls/office/outlctlx.CAB#ver=9,0,0,3203">
<param name="Namespace" value="MAPI">
<param name="Folder" value="inbox">
<param name="Restriction" value="">
<param name="DeferUpdate" value="0">
</object>

See the attached MyInbox.dwp

Just haven't had time to blog about it yet.
