calendar web part

Asked By: Jill    Date: Jan 15    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 16697

In my calendar web part, I have the events in a column list view. How can I get Sharepoint 2010 to hide events that have already happened and only list current and upcoming events from the calendar? I can delete them from my calendar (coming from Outlook) but I would rather filter them in some way.

These events by default have a Start and End Time. I created new calculated columns in the list based on the Start and End Time. For instance: new calculated column = End Date. Formula "=[End Time]-0.0001" .

In my case I was setting up an Out of Office calendar for a department. I created a new view called "Who's Out Today" that filtered on (custom column) Start Date <= [Today] and End Date >= [Today]. You'll note that the operator in the formula "- .0001" seems odd, but that was because of how Outlook/SharePoint was setting start and end times for all day events.
