Calendar view MOSS 2007

Asked By: Sade    Date: Oct 20    Category: MOSS    Views: 1691

Is there a view that will display just a calendar of the current month on
the Home page and allow a user to click on a date and take them to a list of
events for the date selected? Ultimately, the resulting view would provide
the ability to page through the dates of the current month.

it sounds like you've seen Lotus Notes' calendar  tools.

I think what you'll have to do is use your list as a data source for
a dataview web part that will display itself as a calendar. This
will mean you're modifying the page in Designer where you can use
values such as NOW() or TODAY() to point to views filtered for last
month's items and next month's items.

This is just an idea but I think all of those tools are there in SP

Pretty much anytime you use SharePoint Designer it will "unghost" the file.

Anyone know of a third party solution? I spoke to bamboo solutions and they
do not have anything on deck.

There was a sample custom webpart that I saw in SharePoint 2003 that did
this type of thing. It was designed to go into the narrow Right Zone on a
page. It was a simple calendar  view that you could navigate through to show
a specific month. Then clicking on a day in the calendar would popup a list
of events for that day. You could easily use the code to build a set of
webparts that would pass the selected date to a second webpart to filter a
list of events for that day. I think this is the original source code that
I looked at:
