Yes a couple of ways.

1. Open library in Windows Explorer View then drag and drop.
2. Use the upload  multiple files option.

Both require office integration to be turned on and for MS Office and
webclient service be installed/running on the client.

What do you want to upload. You can with files. You just select
multiple files in the upload  screen. You can upload your users from
Active directory under Services and you can upload email stuff from
Outlook.

Map the sharepoint site to the network drive and move the files over...

You can also open the library in explorer view and copy the files.

go to the library or list your are uploading to. select upload  multiple
documents. select the documents you want and upload them. You can also do a bulk
check in.

How do you do a bulk  check in? If I recall, if there is a required tag
column for metadata, and you dump a bunch of files via network places,
you are stuck checking each file in individually. Maybe that has
changed, but if so, how do you do so?
