Building Web Parts & Java

Asked By: Andrew Jackson         Date: Dec 03, 2004      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 1925

I hope someone can help clarify building webparts: As I understand it, you can create a webpart in any of the supported .NET languages. This would include J#, but not Sun's Java. Further, you can't have JSP as webparts. Is this correct or are there exceptions?

Also, has anyone been successful in creating a webpart with J#? Or know of any webpart J# sample code we could download to look at?

We are mostly a Java shop and want some idea of what it would take for our programmers to develop webparts using J# rather then C# or VB.

Although I haven't seen any sample  code and I don't have J# installed; I
can't imagine that it would be difficult. C# isn't much different, is
it?
