Running MOSS 07 - have 1 WFE server running the Query role and 1
Indexing server running the Index role w/a clustered SQL back end. I
had a problem with indexing so I enabled Index role on the WFE (both
query and index on same box) so I could investigate. I think I got the
problem resolved with the Index server and am now ready to bring the
Index server back into the loop. I have done this once before, but had
all kinds of problems with getting indexing re-established and the
index propagating to the query server again.
Question: when you have a server already up and running both Query and
Indexing, and you want to move the Indexing role to another server, is
there a magical order in which this must be done to get it to work
properly and propagate the index back to the query server?
Any help would be appreciated as I would rather not cause unnecessary
problems in my production environment.
