Break out of a page viewer frame

Asked By: Domonique    Date: Jan 16    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 3083

On my site I have a page viewer web-part linked to a simple html page that
contains links to other pages. When I click those links, the page loads in the
little web-viewer frame. How can I break out of the frame? I want to click on
the link to load the page in the main browser window - like a normal link would

On your simple  html page  that links  to other pages, the <a> tags on that
page need to have an attribute added: target="_top".

For example:

<a href="http://www.yahoo.com" target="_top">Yahoo</a>

The target attribute will cause the link  to open in the parent window.

I figured that out, but couldn't remember that I had posted
that. For some reason I was thinking that the frames in Sharepoint were
different, but after expirimenting, I discovered exactly what you just said.
Thank you; I will wait a little longer next time so as not to ask such dumb
