BlobCache too small

  Asked By: Johanna    Date: Sep 17    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 717

I enable BlobCache by editing the web.config file:
<BlobCache location="E:\blobCache"
path="\.(gif|jpg|png|css|js|bmp|dwp|stp|wmv)$" maxSize="4" enabled="true"
max-age="6400" />
Right now, my e:\blobcache is 39 MB in size. Does that sound right? Are other
people seeing the same sort of usage?

The BLOB cache in SharePoint only caches files with the extensions listed that
are stored in document libraries in the SharePoint sites. If you don't have a
lot of large graphics stored in libraries used on your sites then 38 MB may be
normal. This is most useful when you have a publishing site where most of the
graphics used on the site are housed in picture libraries rather than in folders
or the root of the site.
