Best way to retrieve SQL Server data using WSS 2.0

I recently took the Sharepoint Designer course from Mindsharp and
after getting all excited about all the development tasks that would
be made easier, I came back to the reality that we are still on WSS
2.0 and won't be headed to 3.0 for a while. In the meantime, I have
to create an html table that will display data that has been stored in
a SQL Server database. Thanks in advance to anyone that can provide
any ideas on the best way to accomplish this.

The Data View web part exists in WSS 2 as well as 3 and can be used for
this purpose.

Thanks for the info. One other question. Will I need designer to add
this web part to the page. I've seen mixed opinions on whether
designer 2007 can be used with 2.0 sites. We will be going to MOSS
some time in the, hopefully, not too distant future and we were
thinking we'd get the designer tool then. If we can utilize it within
our current environment, all the better.

In a WSS v2.0 environment you will need Front Page, not Designer.
Designer is for V3 and Front Page for V2. But in the proper
environments they look and act pretty similar.

I think we've got a copy or two of front page so I'll
dig one up and go down that route.

How are the course materials? I am told they offer a good course....

The class was excellent. I was very pleased with not only the
knowledge of the instructors, but the exercises and real world
applications of the topics that we learned.
