Best way to learn MOSS 2007

Asked By: Alyssa Lewis         Date: Jun 10, 2006      Category: MOSS      Views: 310

One of the resources I used to learn SP2003 was your Resource Kit. Is
there any such book for MOSS2007?

If not, I am interested in understanding the architecture to build
enough of a foundation to understand how the features are built and
work ... everything from WSS and Portal to features such as Content
types (which I see you have a demo), workflow, BDC, KPI, etc.

This is a huge change and if you have any suggestions as to how to work
through it from the beginning such as webcasts, etc.

There are quite a few books coming for MOSS 2007, but we’re still a bit too early to see them since we are still a good 4-6 months from the product being RTM.

The same person behind the 2003 ResKit book (Bill English) is doing another similar book for MSPRESS: MOSS 2007 Admin Companion. I’ll let Bill chime in with details on this, but I’d expect it around the time of RTM, or near after release.

Microsoft also has a ton of e-learning assets available to you: www.microsoft.com/learning/office2007/default.mspx

And then there are the countless blogs. I maintain a link-fest on MOSS WCM Resources (www.andrewconnell.com/.../MossWcmResources.aspx) and there are quite a few other general MOSS link-fests out there (see my general info section for these links: andrewconnell.com/.../MossWcmResources.aspx).
