I have a site that uses an infopath web based form published through form
template on central admin. the next form version, the name of the form changed
and now we have a different content type to show our new property promotions,
how do I get ride of the old fields as they are named similar and are causing
issues with views and such?

I can remove the content type, but the fields are still there, do I have to
delete the library and start over?

Pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, as googling
this site hasn't returned much.
