Let's say you can design simple .html web sites like this one:

http://www.BestOfMostOf.com

But you know have to adminstrate a Sharepoint site that's already up, but rather
basic.

Can anyone please recommend a book(s) as a good starter point to up my knowledge
of SharePoint that aren't excessively complicated right off the bat to
understand?

I like this one http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/books/10623.aspx

It is for the basic - intermediate administrator. There is no theory,
just 'how'. Lots of bulleted lists.

I really do think it is a good, compact book.

There's always "SharePoint for Dummies". No, really. Good book, well
indexed - that plus the "Beginning SharePoint Administration" book
from Wrox (and of course, the "Administrator's Companion" from MS
Press) have served me well thus far. I can provide ISBNs if you'd
like them.

Even SharePoint for dummies was hardly a beginners book.

I'm not of their gang, so I hope It is okay that I put in a plug:
MindSharp apparrently has an End-User's manual.

Right guys?
