BDC Document Library Column - How to search on something other than primary key

Asked By: Kiara    Date: Jun 16    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1229

I got my hands on BDC MetaMan and finally got the BDC to work retrieving data from Navision database, but theres is a problem...

I've imported the application definition xml file generated in BDC MetaMan, and it retrieves the data I want from the Navision Customer table. I've added a Document Library with a business data column called Kontakt, where I would like to be able to select a customer from the BDC, but when I go to Edit Properties for a document and click on the Browse button next to my new column, the Select Customer windows that pops up has no "filters" in the Find drop down, and only displays the primary key for the table.

I can select one of these primary keys, and save, and sharepoint will retrieve the customer name for that primary key, but this is not very usefull because I won't know what customer I've selected before after I save. I would like to be able to see the customer name instead of the primary key here, and if possible add a filter or two where I can type part of the user name, click search and get possible matches. Is this done in the application definition meta file?

Here are a few screenshots to illustrate the problem:
