BDC authentication problem

Asked By: Joseph    Date: Oct 10    Category: MOSS    Views: 1285

I'm having a problem connecting to a BDC web service from SharePoint Server 2007.

The setup:
Windows Server 2003 (not connected to a domain) is accessible from the internet.
SharePoint Server 2007 is installed and is going to be used to access/search the BDC.
To access MOSS you have to have a username/password.
The web service to access the BDC is accessible from the internet and uses a specified username/password for authentication (HTTP).

The problems:
Since the server isn't a part of a domain, I am unable to configure the SSO (WindowsCredentials, Credentials can't be used).
The username/password for web service is specified and different from any other u/p used in MOSS. (PassThrough, RevertToSelf can't be used)

Is there a way to work around this, or am I missing something completely?

SSO needs to be in DC to work. BDC will still work though.

Alternatively, you can write your "own SSO" by implementing ISSOProvider ( msdn.microsoft.com/.../...signon.issoprovider.aspx)
