Batch changes for check-in and approval of library files

Asked By: Chase Davis         Date: Mar 09, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 652

I want to be able to select several files at a time for the purposes of
check-out, check-in, and approval. I can't see a way to do that. Any
tips?

In a MOSS environment, you can use the "Manage Content and Structure"
link on the Site Actions menu. If you browse to a specific document
library in the tree on the left, you can select  multiple documents and
perform those actions. You can also use views to find e.g. checked out
to me.

One minor correction. That tool is not available in all MOSS installs.
Publishing Infrastructure Feature must be turned on at the site
collection level to have that tool.

It will require custom development, unless there's a 3rd party out there
that makes it available. There is no way to do this OOTB.
